  • Rio Ferdinand’s Tipping Point follows former Manchester United/England star and BT Sport pundit, Rio Ferdinand, as he unravels the football ecosystem to explore the status of race, sexuality and mental health in the game today - looking at the effects on and off the pitch.

From grassroots football to the world’s most watched leagues, Ferdinand seeks solutions to drive lasting change while unpicking his own experiences and biases.

Each episode pulls no punches in its attempt to highlight the scale and severity of some of the social issues that blight the beautiful game and pose some of the big questions:

    • “Why is football racist, and why is it getting worse?”

    • “Why is there no openly gay footballer in the premier league?”

    • “Why is there an unknown and unreported mental health crisis in academy football?”

Ferdinand helps the viewer understand the often visceral nature of these problems and the impact it has not just at the elite player level but right across the spectrum of football and beyond.

Filmed over two years, each episode will be fronted by Ferdinand and features intimate interviews with people connected to the sport at all levels: from fans and elite players to organisations and governing bodies.
